As a member of the East Greenbush Town Board for twelve years, Ginny O'Brien was a driving force for many positive programs including the Parks Task Force, Spotlight on Youth and Project 2000. These initiatives were geared toward the growth and improvement of the Town's services and programs.
Ginny started her Town's Parks Task Force in 1990 which has resulted in improved equipment at parks, band concerts, “Saturday in the Park” and the building of a new facility in Hampton Manor, Onderdonk Park. Their “Welcome to East Greenbush” beautification project received the 2001 Community/Neighborhood Beautification Achievement Award by the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Ginny returns to the Rensselaer County Legislature after previously serving from 1993 to 1997 when she instituted the Rensselaer County Youth Court. During this term, she will serve on the Legislature's Standing Committees on Local Government, Education, Health, Social Services and Rules and Governmental Operations. |
